Julie Sung is the co-founder of Helping Kids Smile. She currently attends Neuqua Valley High School (NVHS) located in Naperville, Illinois.
She is a Korean-American teenage girl who enjoys running, baking, socializing with friends. Julie has been playing piano for over 10 years and participated in Sonatina Festivals and AIM (Achievemen
Julie Sung is the co-founder of Helping Kids Smile. She currently attends Neuqua Valley High School (NVHS) located in Naperville, Illinois.
She is a Korean-American teenage girl who enjoys running, baking, socializing with friends. Julie has been playing piano for over 10 years and participated in Sonatina Festivals and AIM (Achievement in Music) exams. She also plays violin in her school orchestra and Youth Symphony of Dupage Orchestra.
In addition to being a passionate musician, Julie is interested in pursuing a career in healthcare field and dreams about becoming a dentist like her father.
When she is not studying for exams or working hard for her non-profit organization, Helping Kids Smile, she loves spending some quality time with her mom and younger sister, Sophie.

Helping Kids Smile is founded by Julie Sung in 2023 during her high school Freshman year. Influenced by her dentist dad, Dr. Won Sung, DDS, Julie has learned that many children do not get regular dental care.

Growing up, Julie had many dental issues including cavities, congenitally missing teeth, and malocclusion requiring orthodontic treatment. Thanks to her dad, Julie did not really have to worry about getting dental work done. It was provided for free whenever she needed it. Now, she knows it was such a privilege, and realizes not all children have the access to the care they need.
By starting Helping Kids Smile, Julie is dedicated to raise public awareness of pediatric oral disease and help educate local communities on the importance of pediatric oral health care.

Promote oral health care for children, especially for those in underserved communities
Educate parents on the importance of early dental visits to prevent oral disease among young kids
Donate essential oral hygiene supplies such as toothbrush, toothpaste and floss to children
